Our Top 7 Child Friendly Soup Recipes

Our Top 7 Child Friendly Soup Recipes

Soups are such a healthy, wholesome and nutritious meal. You can play with flavours, textures and seasonal fruits and vegetables. They are so warming and satisfying on a chilly day and you can simply freeze and defrost them when needed.

Soups are a great kid-friendly option for the school lunchbox. You can just pop in a food flask and give as a new healthy lunch to fill and warm your little one during school hours. They are also a perfect first food option for your baby as you can omit salt and add less stock for more of a purée texture. If your child is uncomfortable with certain textures of foods then soup can be an easy solution!

Hiding veggies and herbs by blending them down into the soup can be just the thing to get your child to try new unfamiliar foods. On the other hand do not despair if your child isn’t the biggest fan of soup because of the smooth texture. I suggest giving chunks of crusty bread with the soup to give bite and substance. Remember a soup recipe is great to mimic flavours and tastes. If your child likes chicken curry for example, create a soup with spice and curried vegetables. If your child likes sweeter tastes, create a soup with naturally sweet vegetables and fruits. Here are my top 7 child friendly soup recipes:
