Courgette, Mint and Pea Puree

 

This courgette and pea puree infused with mint is great to introduce a variety of flavours to your weaning baby. Perfect served as a dip with finger foods such as Homemade Oatcakes for a baby led weaning meal your tot will enjoy!

Cook time: 15 minutes
Makes: 6 3oz Portions

Ingredients
2 courgettes
Large handful of peas
1 tbsp of mint leaves finely chopped
Water to blend

Method

  1. Place a pot of water over medium heat and place the steamer on top and bring water to the boil.
  2. Slice the courgette into chunks and place in the steamer along with the peas.
  3. Sprinkle with the mint and cook for 10-15 minutes, until the courgette is tender and cooked.
  4. Purée or mash, adding some boiled water if it is not runny enough.

Weaning and Storage
6-7 months - Smooth and slightly thicker puree, no lumps
7-8 months - Thicker puree with increased texture
8-9 months - Minced and mashed with soft lumps.
9-12 months – Minced and finely chopped.
