We decided to depart from our usual healthy cooking and make some Valentine's Cookies as a Valentine's Day treat...it is a day for sweetness after all! Make sure to leave a good gap between each cookie or they will merge together.
It was great fun making the cookies and we had lots of licking fingers!
225g butter, softened
110g Caster sugar
315g Plain Flour
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Red Food colouring
Preheat the oven to 170°C.
Mix the butter and sugar in a mixer until light. Add remaining ingredients.
Knead until velvety. Roll one-half of the dough at a time to about ¼ inch thickness using the smallest amount of flour possible.
Cut into heart shapes and bake on a lightly greased pan or place parchment paper and cook for 12 minutes. Cookies will be almost white when cooked.
Have fun with your toppings.
Store in our portion pots to keep for up to a week.
