Easy Baby Food Combination Ideas

Make homemade baby food more interesting and fun for your little ones by combining different foods together. Remember that babies need variety too, so don’t be afraid to experiment with flavours and textures; it can be fun figuring out what your little ones like best! Combining different foods and flavours is also a great way of expanding your baby’s palate and can help them avoid becoming a fussy eater later on.

Read on to learn how to prepare easy, delicious food combinations for your baby. Cook your food in batches and store in our portion weaning pots and freeze for future use.

Baby Food Combination Tips

  • Your baby is born with a sweet tooth and some foods may be hard to introduce, by mixing purees such as parsnip and pear or beetroot and plum your baby will be more accepting of new flavours.
  • From six months it is important to move on from runny purees to chunkier foods. Your baby is more accepting of new foods at this time and offering variety at this stage will ensure your baby will go through the weaning stages with ease. Increase textures by blending your baby’s puree and adding potato or pasta.
  • By combining sweet with savoury, your little one is more likely to accept new tastes. Try mixing apple with asparagus or sweet potato with salmon like in our Salmon and Sweet Potato Puree.
  • You can batch cook your baby’s food by preparing different purees ahead of time and freezing them separately. Store them in our weaning pots for easy storage. Once you are ready to feed your little one, defrost the purees first, and then you can start combining the different flavours together. Batch cooking will save you time and is especially useful for busy days!
