Homemade Salt-Free Biscotti with Babyccino: Perfect Teething Finger Food (6 Months+)
Try out this easy, homemade Biscotti recipe, a fantastic, salt-free alternative to shop-bought biscuits for your little ones.
These crunchy sticks are an ideal finger food for your weaning baby (6 months+), especially if they are teething. The firm texture provides soothing pressure on the gums, making this a great Baby-Led Weaning snack!
Cook time: 45 minutes
Makes: 5 Adult portions
Ingredients
125g plain flour
100g wholemeal flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 eggs, whisked
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp full-fat milk
1 cup of full-fat milk
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients. Slowly add the 2 whisked eggs and mix together until a dough starts to form.
- Split the dough in two, and shape it into logs on your baking tray.

Mix the egg yolk and 1 tbsp of milk together. Using a pastry brush, glaze the logs.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5-6 minutes before slicing into biscotti shapes.
- Lower your oven to 160°C, then return the biscotti to the oven. Bake for a further 15-20 minutes, until dried and golden brown. Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool.
- Warm and froth the cup of milk by either heating it in a pan or using a milk frother. Test the temperature before offering it to your baby.
Weaning & Storage:
6 Months+: Introduce as a firm finger food for your baby to pick up and self-feed.
Storage: Store cooled biscotti in our Mummy Cooks airtight container for up to 5 days.
