This Asparagus and Apple Puree is the perfect baby food for your little one. Babies are born with a sweet tooth so by combining sweet with savoury your baby is more likely to accept new tastes such as asparagus.
Cook time: 10-15 minutes
Portions: 6 x 30ml / 1oz
Handful of asparagus
- Wash, peel and cube the apple and asparagus.
- Place the apple and asparagus in a steamer and cook for 10-15 minutes, until tender and cooked through.
- Blend or mash, adding cooking water, if needed, to desired consistency.
Weaning and Storage
4-6 months – Blended to Runny Puree
6-7 months - Smooth and slightly thicker puree, no lumps
7-8 months - Thicker puree with increased texture
8-9 months - Minced and mashed with soft lumps.
9-12 months – Minced and finely chopped.
