Picnic Style Prawns with Pasta

Simple but tasty, this picnic style prawn pasta salad is a fantastic addition to your little one's lunch box. It's also ideal for your weaning tot as a baby led weaning meal. Delicious served hot or cold, it is a perfect quick meal that kids will enjoy.

This dish is delicious served hot or cold and travels perfectly inside one of our Food Flasks.

Cook time: 12 minutes
Makes: 4 Adult portions

Ingredients
80g Uncooked Penne Pasta
100g of pre-cooked prawns
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 tbsp of olive oil
8-10 cherry tomatoes, halved or quatered, whichever you prefer

Dressing:
8 tbsp of mayonnaise
3 tbsp of tomato ketchup
1 tsp paprika
- optional 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce

Mixed leaves, to serve

Method
  1. Cook the penne according to its packet instructions.
  2. In a small bowl combine all of the dressing ingredients and set aside.
  3. Heat a pan with the olive oil and garlic over a medium heat. Add in the prawns and allow to heat through.
  4. In a large bowl combine the pasta and the tomatoes.
  5. Add in the prawns along with any olive oil left in the pan and mix thoroughly.
  6. Add the dressing and stir until everything is coated. Serve with mixed leaves.

Weaning and Storage
6 months+ - Introduce as a finger food for baby to pick up and self feed.
